What the Shelf is

The Shelf is the open resource library of Supply Chain of the Future (SCOTF), an industry initiative for the fresh produce supply chain. It holds reports, guides, frameworks, standards work and working code. Each is written so that a company that was not in the room can learn from it and use it on a Monday.

How to use it

Read, learn, then take it. Every resource has an overview page. Where a full report exists, it opens in the page and downloads as a PDF. The library lists everything and can be filtered by type, workstream, license and status. If you do not know the industry's word for your problem, start with the guide. Software and assistants can read the same catalog from the Connect your agent page.

How each resource is licensed

Each resource carries its own license. It appears on the resource page, in the footer of its PDF and in the machine-readable index. Guidance that TOTEM LLC holds is published under CC BY 4.0. Contributed and source-bound material follows the contributor's or the source's terms, often CC BY-NC 4.0. Code and schemas are published under Apache 2.0. All three licenses require attribution. Read the license on the page before you reuse a resource. Third-party material appears only with written permission and is credited.

Names, neutrality and standards

Companies are named only with their approval. Listing a company, product or tool on the Shelf does not mean the Shelf endorses it. Resources are written in terms of roles and open standards. GS1 owns the GS1 standards; where we summarize GS1 guidance we point you to GS1's own publications.

Status and versions

This is version 0.9. The first resources are early drafts, published on purpose so that practitioners can tell us what is wrong or missing before v1.0. Each resource shows its version and status. Pilot results are reported as they happened, including what did not work.

TOTEM LLC is a SCOTF partner and holds interests in data-sharing and attestation technology.

Each resource names its own contributors and states their interests where relevant. The Shelf application is open source under Apache 2.0, with a NOTICE that carries the credit above.

Privacy

The Shelf is operated by TOTEM LLC for Supply Chain of the Future until its operation transfers to an industry entity. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, governed by TOTEM LLC, explain what the site and the feedback form collect, including analytics, and how it is used.
